It’s easy to give in

There is this nice concept of soft denial related to climate change, especially. Like that you are aware and think that climate change is a real problem and humankind is responsible for it. But then, somehow, you just don’t get it or don’t want to recognize the scale of the problem or that you should in fact make active changes in your life so that something could be done about the issue. And this soft denial has so many forms, for example, there is this kind of an idea that being environmentally friendly and responsible merely means that you buy sustainably developed products when the right solution would be to buy less and use up things. I mean, to be aware of these things. The problem just takes new forms and there is always a possibility of someone taking advantage because the problem is so wide and feels so impossible, so then people are offered these kinds of easy solutions. So, pretty many just give in to it.
